Rosebrooks House (RH)
Description:
This house, built c. 1760-1765, is on the State Registry of Historic Places. Before being purchased by the State of Connecticut in 1917, the house, Rosebrooks Barn, and the farm surrounding it were owned by Charles Rosebrooks, who came to Mansfield in 1867 to manage Otis Storrs’ farm. Rosebrooks married Julia Chapman in 1874 and they settled on her parents’ farm next to the Augustus Storrs estate before purchasing it in 1878.
